Disabling this feature can help to resolve audio switching issues and allow simultaneous audio playback across applications, which is a common cause of one-way or missing audio on Webphone calls. ## Symptoms - No audio or input on a phone call, even though the headset is listed within the CTI and the webphone launches without issue. - Audio cuts out during a call while other applications are running in the background (for example Teams, Google Meet or Slack). - The webphone does not launch because the headset is not being recognised. ## Resolution Disable "Advanced Exclusive Mode" for both your headset (the Playback device) and your microphone (the Recording device) in the Windows sound settings. 1. Open your Windows search bar, type **Sound Settings**, and select **Sound settings** under System settings. ![Searching for Sound Settings in the Windows 11 search bar](https://cdn.document360.io/c81c490c-daaa-4ebd-a3c3-1a2dee8b7617/Images/Documentation/kb---disable-exclusive-mode-windows-11-image-6aryxxrb.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-01T09%3A00%3A37Z&se=2026-11-01T10%3A00%3A37Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=bZ35ZCvL3pTTsyXYhKkjUZFWcm%2BRJv0jmM2ri9JXueI%3D) 2.
