The Chat channels section in Settings allows you to manage your chat channels on Natterbox. From this page you can create new chat channel widgets to embed onto your website, update the branding of the widget to match your style, or delete chat channels you’re no longer using.
The changes you make on this page to your chat channel widgets are updated dynamically meaning if you were to update the branding of your widget your website visitor would see these changes next time they visit the page - you do not need to update the widget script each time.
Setting up a Chat channel
From the Chat channels page in settings you can create a new chat channel by pressing the “New Channel” button.

Channel Details
You will be able to set the name of the channel (which will be visible on the chat widget) as well as the timeout. The timeout controls how long before the conversation is automatically closed when there’s been no messages received on the chat conversation.
The channel name will show at the top of the Chat Widget.

Branding
You can edit the branding of the chat widget to match your website. There is a preview within the settings page that will show you how the widget will look. You can configure the following:
Widget colour - this is the colour of the icon that sits within the corner on your website
Header colour - this is the colour of the header of the chat widget itself
Button colour - this is the colour of the button to start the conversation and to send a message
Speech bubble colour - this is the colour of the speech bubbles for any outbound messages.

Selecting the colour bubble will allow you to select the colour. You can also enter in the hex code for your desired colour.
Optionally you can also enable a logo and upload your brands logo to display on the chat widget.
To enable the logo make sure that “Use Logo” is toggled on.

Then you can upload your logo below this.

Widget Script
Once you have created a chat channel you will need to get the chat widget script to embed onto your website. This script can be obtained from the main chat channels page, hovering over the channel you wish to generate the script for and pressing the “Generate Widget” button.

This will open up a section where you can copy the script to your clipboard.
The chat widget must be placed within the body of your website.
Note: Depending on how your website has been built you may need to embed the chat widget on each page you wish for the widget to display on.
