Messaging App on Page Layout

The Natterbox Messaging App can be added to the page layout via a Visualforce page. There are various ways this can be done in Salesforce, this guide focuses on editing the page from the page view.


Natterbox currently support 4 different objects for the Page Layout by default, these are:

  • Leads

  • Accounts

  • Contacts

  • Cases

To adjust which objects a conversation can be initiated from see the Configure Assignments article.


To add the Natterbox Messaging app to the page layout you can do this by doing the following:

  1.  Go to a Record on an Object you wish to add the App to

  2. Click the Cogwheel in the top right

  3. Click Edit Page

  4. Click and drag the Visualforce component onto the layout where you wish for it to be

  5. Change the Visualforce Page Name to “Natterbox Messaging”

  6. Untick Show Label

  7. Change the height to 600px

  8. Click Save

    1. You may need to activate this layout for your org
