The Finish container is the standard way to complete a routing policy, or, if applicable, each path of a routing policy.

Configuration

Finish is a simple container that does not have any functionality within it.

Apps

The only app in the Finish container is Voice Mail:

Typically, the Voice Mail app is used at this point in the policy for out of hours, or after all relevant users have been attempted to be reached by the policy but have timed out without a response. This makes sure that any call to reach this stage is responded to appropriately.

Once a call reaches the Finish container, the call is either diverted to voicemail or hung-up, dependent on whether a Voice Mail app is included. For this reason, it is only possible to place one app in the Finish container.

Neither the Finish container nor the Voice Mail app has any functionality to link to a new container/app. Because a policy automatically hangs up the call when it reaches a conclusion with no onwards link, be aware that this is this container's primary function. Any task that needs to take place before hang up should be placed before this container in an appropriate different container.

Result

If a call reaches this container and is not picked up by a Voice Mail app, it is hung up when it reaches the end of the container. If it is picked up by a Voice Mail app, the high likelihood is that the caller will hang up the call - if they do not, the app automatically hangs up the call 1 minute into the recording. Reaching the end of a policy automatically triggers the call being disconnected - this container makes sure it is done gracefully.
