Article Summary

Voicemail Drop is not available on inbound calls.

This feature enables you to leave a pre-recorded message when you reach a voicemail so you can move on to the next call. This can be a great time saver for when you are dialling a lot of outbound numbers that end up going go to voicemail, as it saves you explaining the reason for your call over and over again. This can be accessed from the Menu on the Freedom CTI:

Setting up Voicemail Drop

To do this you will need to have your Natterbox PIN configured.

If you have not previously configured a PIN you can dial 1571 from your dial pad and enter the personal voicemail system. The first time you set this up you will be able to set a PIN number and you can also change it in future by dialling in again. It must be 4 digits and they cannot be in sequence (1234) or 4 identical numbers (0000). If you previously have set a PIN and forgotten it, your Natterbox administrator can reset this for you.

When you click on “Record new voicemail drop” you’ll hear a message that asks you to enter your PIN followed by the # key.

After this, you’ll be asked to leave your message after the beep and will then hear options to:

  1. Listen to your message
  2. Re-record your message
  3. Delete your message

If you’re happy with your message, you can ignore these options and simply hang up the call to save it.

As you create messages, you’ll see them appear as in the screenshot below.

You can listen to them by pressing

You can edit, download, delete and change the name of a message by clicking the icon on the right of the window.

Sharing Voicemail Drop messages

All Voicemail Drop messages are private to you by default but you also have the option to share messages for all other members of your company to access.

To do this simply select “Edit” to edit the voicemail message, click the “Shared” option and then “Save Voicemail”.

Note, a user is only able to modify and share / unshare their own voicemail drop messages.

Dropping a Voicemail message

When making an outbound call, if you reach a customer / prospect’s voicemail box, you’ll see the option to leave them a pre-recorded voicemail from this icon:

Once you hear the beep on your recipient’s voicemail, select which voicemail message you want to leave: the call automatically hangs up and the message is left in the recipient’s voicemail box, meaning you can move straight on to your next task.

Note that the duration of the voicemail drop recording will not be added to your overall talk time.
