Network Stability Tests

Prev Next

If you are having issues with the webphone disconnecting, please complete these tests to see if your network meets the standards required for Natterbox.

If you are an administrator looking for a more detailed guide, please see here.

Test 1: Packet Loss Test

This test will take only a few minutes to set up but needs to run for at least 1 hour in the background. You can continue working normally while this happens.

This test is more in depth than the test below. It allows a better understanding of the network because it is over a longer time frame.

Choose the tab depending on what device you are using:

  1. Open a Command Prompt ( open start menu and type ‘cmd’)

  2. Type the following:

    ping 8.8.8.8 -n 3600

  3. Check back in an hour for the results.

  1. Click ‘cmd’ + space key and type ‘Terminal’.

  2. In the new terminal, type the following:

    ping -c 3600 8.8.8.8

  3. Check back in an hour for results.

When it is complete, it will provide a summary of the results at the bottom.

If your packet loss is greater than 1%, it is indicative of significant network connectivity issues across that time period.

If your packet loss is less than 1%, that is considered good.

Please note: Passing this test doesn’t guarantee that your network is good, it only confirms it's not very bad at the time the test was run. Interference can come and go across the day and might slip between those 1 second intervals.

Test 2: Network Stability Test

This test usually takes less than 1 minute.
