Record Types for Task Layouts

Two new Record Types are being introduced (from Natterbox v1.119 onwards) to support the upcoming feature, Insights:

• Insights - for capturing all strictly Insights related Tasks
• General - for all other Tasks

These affect the Task Layout.

How this Affects Existing Users

If an organisation has previously created custom record types: this change is an addition that can be ignored. The new record types will show alongside existing ones when creating a Task, but unless an administrator explicitly switches to use one as a default, it will not affect the user in any way.

If an organisation does not have previously configured custom record types: when creating a new Task, users of the Natterbox app will be given the option of choosing General or Insights as the page layout for that task.

If a user selects Insights for a non-Insights task, there will simply be fields in the task layout that don't apply. It will not affect the functionality of the task.

To Change Configured Task Layout

If an organisation does not have previously configured custom record types but does have a previously configured Task Layout:

• Navigate to Setup > Object Manager > Task > Page Layouts
  
  
  
• Click the Page Layout Assignment button to open the Page Layout Assignment page.
  
  
  
  
• Click Edit Assignment to open a page in which a profile's preferred assignment can be edited, changing it to the previously configured custom Task Layout.
